Wednesday's post on Thursday...
Forgive me my loyal bloggins. I have been out celebrating my birthday with all kinds of belated well-wishers. So I forgot to post on Sunday and today's post will be a top five that was supposed to be up yesterday. Sorry about that, but sometimes life just happens.

So, what to put up for today's top five? Top Five Summer Drinks

1. Water with lemon. Trite? Okay, but still, nothing better. Especially ice cold.

2. Lemonade. Homemade preferably. I never did have one of those stands as a kid. Though I would fully support one now adays.

3. Bacardi Breezers. Okay, I tried to keep this one non-alcholholic, but I just couldn't. These are too good and I will admit it. I am one of those people in the liquor store who mixes and matches the four pack of these little beauties.

4. Mike's Hard Lime. Not sure if this is the real name or just what my brain came up with, but these are sooooo good.

5. Peppermint Iced tea. I know, sounds weird, but when you're hot, this stuff cools down your throat and in my case, gives me a little chill. Sort of funny in the middle of a heat wave to shiver in a room full of people trying to sweat less. But then, my life is definitely weird, if nothing else.

And there you have it. Any fav drinks you have to cool down with?

Birthday wishes Top Five
Okay, so I'm not always the brightest crayon in the box. I've been wracking my brain for the top five I've wanted to put up this week and couldn't find a topic. But duh, it's my birthday on Friday! (yes, here's my sign, I wear it proudly and upside down so I can read it always).

Top Five things to do on my Birthday!

1. Visit museums/art galleries (does this make me boring?)

2. Go to an amusement park. Flume rides and lazy rivers rock! Magic Mountain has a fantastic wave pool too, at least it did when I was a kid. I loved it.

3. Camping. I like the sound of rain on a tin roof, but also against the side of the tent. And since it's my birthday, we'd be camping by the ocean or river.

4. Going to the beach. Okay, on the past three birthdays in a row, it has rained on my b-day. Sucky. So I haven't been to the beach on this particular day in a while. Maybe Friday will be different!

5. Driving. I know, sounds lame, but I like driving. I actually like getting lost (as long as I don't have somewhere urgent to be or someone who is counting on me to pick them up) and then trying to figure out a way back. And that's how you can discover some really cool places along the way. Driving between Saskatchewan and Manitoba, I found this one little connector dirt road that was between two lakes...absolutely beautiful. But I never would have found it if I hadn't been lost.

And there you go, my fav things to do on my birthday (at least by myself. I can't actually remember when I've had a boyfriend on my birthday...hmm...nope, can't remember).

what about you?

Off to the races! Next WIP
Okay, so while I let the last WIP cool, here's a
little Six Sentence Sunday from the very latest WIP...

One face in particular was radiating pure malice.
It practically glowed with its intent and I knew, as if he’d been shouting it,
that this man had a gun and was waiting to use it.
But I wasn’t his intended target.  I turned to lay my hand on
Candida’s arm, to use her voice to warn Drew and his team
quietly, but the man must have sensed his cover was blown.
He raised the hand gun above his head and fired several shots in the air.
The room filled with screams and raw fear.

Crowing and Top Five!
I'm done, I'm done, I'm done...sloppy copy anyways. First draft. Yeah, it sucks. But I now have something to twiddle with while I work out the Next Great Idea!

Onto the top five...in honour of the next WIP...You're favourite comicbook heroes!

1. Wolverine (okay, so this is the first comicbook hero that I had ever come across as being CANADIAN!!! Come one, gimme that one guys!)

2. Witchblade - Sarah (cause who wouldn't want to have a bracelet that turns into a sword and a suit of armor? Just me? Really?)

3. Scott Pilgrim (not sure if he really counts, more of a game fan, but still. It's my list...I can put him on here if I want to, can't I?)

4. Jubilee (A chick who can throw fireworks from her hands AND smart mouth Wolverine without getting the shit kicked out of her? Yep, I'm there.)

5. Human Torch/Iceman. (I know, I know, but it really was a tie! I couldn't choose between hawt Hot boy *thank you Chris Evans*, and sweet, sensitve Bobby Drake *especially when he channels his inner bad boy*)

So there you have it. Mostly Marvel universe, but I just could never get behind the DC, except maybe Batman. And Catwoman rocks...Oooo maybe I should put her up as number...no, wait, if I keep going, I'll be here all day.

Six sentence sunday
I'm renaming this damn thing to 'The Book That Would Not Die.'  But here are six sentences, unedited, raw, graceless and fresh from the work in progress... enjoy.

We made it just before the strident sounds of Detective West and her partner reached us, balling out the cop that Franco had sent down for donuts. I almost felt sorry for the guy. But I took a sniff again. Geri confirmed it. Gun oil. They had drawn their weapons.

Top Five...

This week...

List your top five movies of all time...

1. Princess Bride (it's quirky, it's fantasy, it has true love, adventure, sword fighting and Indigo Montoya! What's not to love?)

2. Second Hand Lions. Again, true love, adventure, treasure, and a kid that escapes his mom's absentee child rearing habits.

3. Goonies. I will admit. I was Chunk growing up. Truffle Shuffle and nature hating works. But oh man did I want to be Mikey.

4.Practical Magic. At the time this came out, I needed to believe that if you just trust the universe enough, even curses can be lifted. So, I really needed this movie when it appeared.

5. Neverending Story. Here is a kid I could relate to. Did well in school but still hated it, didn't have many friends except in books. And hey, there's a flying luck dragon (Yes I am aware the book is better, I was a kid when it came out and it was the first movie I was allowed to see on my own).

And that's me. Over and out!

Six Sentence Sunday...
Here's this week's snippet from the current WIP...please bare in mind that it is unedited and raw. Also, adult language and situations. You are forewarned.

“How much shit am I in, cowboy?” I whispered. If I had hoped my language would shock him into a response, I failed miserably. He just smiled and lazily tucked my hair behind my ear. He closed the distance between us and laid a soft kiss on my lips. He ran his hands slowly up my back. I let my eyelids flutter closed at the touch. “I’m barely touching you.” He whispered.

List your top five...
Okay, so yes, I am merciless in my stealing from other sources, but I kinda like this one too. The goal of this game is to list the top five things, people, places, etc. You have to stay on topic, but you're allowed to explain you're choices. So, for this week's topic...

You're top five favourite songs...

1. Claire du Lune (Twilight, I hate you for this reason alone...it was my song damn it!).

2. Professor Pumplestickle (it has some of the coolest effects in Just Dance 2...and I fully admit to being a dork).

3.Blue Skies (Kings County Honor Choir sang this song on their tape that they made and I played bass for it. It isn't a wonderful rendition, but it was my first trip into a recording studio!)

4. Song for the Mira (it's a local song, the Mira is a river in Cape Breton and it's a beautiful song I love to sing, just for the joy of the words and the sentiment it conveys. Also, my Grandmother was from Cape Breton. We didn't have a lot in common, but she always liked this song).

5. Hey Mickey (I don't know why, I just do.)

*Obviously this post reflects only those songs that just will not go away. They will always be in my heart and, God willing, my head. This does not count earworms...that will be another post.*

So what are your top five favs?
